The rice market witnessed some correction with prices of aromatic and non-basmati rice dropping by ₹25-200 a quintal on Monday, after last week’s rally.

Amit Chandna, proprietor of Hanuman Rice Trading Company, said after witnessing an uptrend over the last few days, rice prices have come down unexpectedly. Any major alteration at this time of the year is unlikely and prices may continue to rule around current levels but within a positive territory in the coming weeks, he said.

Traders find this situation as a temporary phase and expect that market may improve in the coming days.
