Rally in pulse seeds continuing for the past few days ended on Tuesday with rise in arrivals as the truckers' strike ended on Tuesday . Chana (kanta), which had rallied to ₹5,300 a quintal, declined by ₹100-150 to ₹5,150-5,200. Chana (desi) ruled at ₹5,000 and Kabuli Bitki at ₹4,500-5,000.
Given expected arrival of imported chana next month, any major rise in prices appears unlikely, said Sanjay Agrawal, a local trader. Chana dal (average) was being quoted at ₹6,200-6,300, chana dal (medium) ruled at ₹6,400-6,500, while chana dal (bold) was at ₹6,800-7,000 a quintal respectively.
Weak arrival and improved demand also lifted dollar chana with its prices in mandis across Madhya Pradesh at ₹6,500-6,800 a quintal amid an arrival of 4,000-4,500 bags. In container, dollar chana 42/44 count fetched ₹7,575-7,600; 44/46 count at ₹7,375- 7,400; 58/60 count was at ₹6,275-6,300, while 60/62 count ruled at ₹6,175-6,200 a quintal respectively.
