Sugar prices declined by ₹10-20 a quintal on aggressive selling with discount by producers on report of higher production and surplus during 2014-15 season. On the Vashi spot market prices declined by ₹12-20, naka trade took place at ₹10-30 lower. Mill tender prices lost ₹10-20. Arrivals were at 60-62 truck loads and local dispatches improved to 58-60 truck loads. On Tuesday, 18-20 mills offered tenders and sold 68,000-70,000 bags at ₹2,830-2,930 (₹2,850-2,940) for S-grade and ₹2,940-3,040 (₹2,950-3,050) for M-grade. The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: S-grade ₹3,032-3,102 (₹3,036-3,122) and M-grade ₹3,142-3,292 (₹3,132-3,305). Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹2,910-3,000 (₹2,940-3,000) and M-grade ₹3,000-3,150 (₹3,000-3,140).
