Pepper prices slipped on selling pressure from both Kerala and Karnataka. Arrivals from Sakleshpur and Chikamagaluru in Karnataka have picked up and traders were offering at ₹655 a kg on cash and carry basis delivered anywhere India. Meanwhile, inter-State dealers from Tamil Nadu have slowed down buying from the high ranges of Kerala. On the terminal market, 32 tonnes of pepper were traded at ₹635-645 a kg. On the IPSTA platform, all the active contracts were down ₹1,000 a quintal. Spot prices also dropped by ₹700 a quintal to ₹62,100 (ungarbled) and ₹65,100 (garbled). Export prices dipped to $10,800 a tonne c&f for February shipments while March and April shipments are at $9,900 and $9,500 respectively.
