On the back of short supply and good demand from international markets, castorseed prices moved up about 2 per cent on the NCDEX. Castor oil also increased sharply. On the Rajkot Commodity Exchange (RCX), castorseed December contract gained ₹174 to ₹4,660 a quintal.
Hardly 1,500-2,000 bags arrived against 30,000 bags in Gujarat. On the other hand, demand from international companies was good and they want supply at any price. But shippers did not agree to buy at this price level. Castor oil was up ₹25 to ₹870/10 kg.
