Silver prices rose Rs 127 to Rs 41,920 per kg at the futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions on the back of recovery in the precious metals overseas.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in September traded higher by Rs 127 or 0.3 per cent at Rs 41,920 per kg in a business turnover of 11 lots.
Likewise, the white metal for delivery in far-month December traded higher by Rs 53 or 0.13 per cent to Rs 42,330 per kg in 303 lots.
Market analysts said fresh positions created by speculators in tune with a recovery in bullion in the global market on speculation that the recent fall in prices may spur purchases, influenced silver prices at the futures trade.
Meanwhile, the white metal gained 0.2 per cent to $19.22 an ounce in Singapore.
