Spot pepper prices continued their fall as exchange-released pepper was being pushed into the market at much lower rates of ₹650 a kg outside the terminal market. High Range pepper was down at ₹670; Wayanad pepper was quoted at ₹660-665 a kg. Consequently, spot prices fell by ₹400 a quintal to ₹67,100 (ungarbled) and ₹70,100 (garbled). November and January contracts on the IPSTA remained unchanged at ₹70,000 and ₹57,000 a quintal respectively while December moved up by ₹1,000 a quintal to ₹64,000. Export prices were at $10,800 a tonne c&f for Europe and $11,050 for the US. MG-1 still remained much above all other origins.
