Increased availability of cheap imported stuff continued to push down the spot pepper prices further on Thursday. On the terminal market nine tonnes were traded at ₹390-410 a kg. 15 tonnes of high range pepper were traded at ₹420and it was bought by an exporter, trade sources told Business Line . Spot pepper dropped by ₹100 a quintal to close at ₹40,300 (ungarbled) and ₹42,300 (garbled) a quintal. Indian export prices were at $6,800 a tonne c&f for Europe and $7,050 for the US.
