Sugar prices on the Vashi wholesale spot market declined by ₹6-17 a quintal for M-grade, while it was mixed for S-grade with a drop of ₹16 on the lower side and gain of ₹2 on the higher side. Mills continued to keep offer for sale open ahead of new crushing season while ample stocks at markets kept stockists away from new bets. Vashi market carries about 115-120 truckloads of stocks; Arrivals were at 61-62 truckloads arrived and local dispatches were 59-60 loads. On Saturday evening, 18-20 mills offered tenders and sold hardly 44,000-45,000 bags at ₹2,840-2,940 (₹2,840-2,940) for S-grade and ₹2,940-3,050 (₹2,940-3,050) for M-grade.
The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: S-grade ₹2,986-3,102 (₹3,002-3,100) and M-grade ₹3,096-3,275 (₹3,102-3,292). Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹2,900-3,015 (₹2,900-3,015) and M-grade ₹3,050-3,130 (₹3,050-3,130).
