Buying support for chana was subdued on Tuesday amid chill weather condition. The trend was despite local mandis re-opening after a two-day holiday. On Tuesday, chana (kanta) ruled stable at ₹3,175-3,200 a quintal on subdued demand, while chana (desi) ruled at ₹2,950 and chana (mausmi) at ₹3,300-3,500. Till the arrival of new crop, chana prices are likely to vacillate between ₹3,200 and ₹3,300 a quintal, said Sanjay Agrawal, a local chana trader.
Chana dal (average) was being quoted at ₹3,650-3,950, chana dal (medium) ₹4,000-4,150, while chana dal (bold) traded at ₹4,250-4,350.
Sluggish trend also continued in dollar chana on slack domestic and export demand. Amid arrival of 3,000-4,000 bags in mandis across Madhya Pradesh, dollar chana ruled at ₹4,500-4,700.
In container also, dollar chana traded low on slack export demand with the 42/44 count being quoted at ₹5,425-50, 44/46 count ₹5,250-75 and 60/62 count ruled at ₹4,550-75 respectively .
