Sugar prices on the Vashi market extended gains by ₹10-20 a quintal tracking firm mill tender rates. Naka rates were steady while Maharashtra’s producers sold the commodity at ₹20-40 higher.
Arrivals to the Vashi market were at 60-61 truck loads and local dispatches were also at same level. On Thursday, 15-16 mills offered tenders and sold about 48,000-50,000 bags at ₹2,680-2,750 (2,650-2,710) for S-grade and ₹2,760-2,840 (2,710-2,820) for M-grade.
The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: S-grade ₹2,762-2,871 (2,752-2,866) and M-grade ₹2,842-2,995 (2,842-2,982). Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹2,725-2,780 (2,725-2,780) and M-grade ₹2,830-2,900 (2,830-2,900).
