Sugar prices ruled steady on Friday on routine normal activities. As supply from mills remained sufficient and enough stocks in the hands of the stockiest kept them away from bulk inventory buying for festivals. Freight rates were stable. Vashi market maintains the stocks of about 115 truck loads continuously. Sources said at Vashi prices remained under pressure on thin volatility of ₹5-10 as per quality. Arrivals and local dispatches were at par at 60- 61 truck loads.

On Thursday evening 16 mills sold about 45,000 bags at steady prices at ₹3,600-3,660 (3,600-3,660) for S-grade and ₹3,650-3,750 (3,650-3,750) for M-grade.

On Bombay Sugar Merchants Association's spot rates were: (in ₹)S-grade 3,736-3,806 (3,726-3,810) and M-grade was 3,800-4,000 (3,810-4,000).

Naka delivery rates were: (in ₹)S-grade 3,700-3,760 (3,700-3,760) and M-grade 3,750-3,860 (3,750-3,860).
