Sugar market ruled steady on Monday on continuous selling by mills as they have to ease their surplus stocks to a level directed by the Central government. At Vashi spot and naka rates were steady despite higher festival demand and offtake. Mill tender rates were unchanged. Freight rates were unchanged. The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates:S-grade ₹3,582-3,756 (3,582-3,756) and M-grade ₹3,670-3,892 (3,662-3,892). Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹3,560-3,640 (3,560-3,640) and M-grade ₹3,630-3,730 (3,630-3,730).
