The project approval committee on Technology Mission on Coconut (TMOC) cleared 27 projects with an outlay of ₹36.46 crore and a subsidy of ₹6.61 crore. Of this, there were six research projects and 21 projects on processing and product diversification.
The 43rd meeting held here also sanctioned three projects submitted by Coconut producer companies in Kerala with an outlay of ₹1,278.82 lakh and subsidy of ₹119.14 lakh.
Several projects on neera processing units, desiccated coconut powder units, coconut shell-based units, tender coconut water processing and packaging units, ball copra units in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat under the sub component processing and product diversification’ were sanctioned at the meeting.
