Castor seed futures increased on speculative buying followed by decline in supply and strong demand in spot. Buying from exporters was firm. Traders said a steep rise in castor seed prices was mostly supported by thin supplies from growing belts amidst strong demand from consuming industries in the physical markets. On the NCDEX, June futures was up ₹19 to ₹4,010 a quintal while July series increased ₹20 to ₹4,145. On the Rajkot Commodity Exchange castor June futures increased ₹20 to ₹4,012. RCX spot castor moved up ₹25 to ₹3,875. About 70,000-72,000 bags arrived in Gujarat and price was ₹770-780 per 20 kg. Around 2,400-2,500 bags arrived in Saurashtra and went for ₹750-760. Castor oil was up ₹5 to ₹785/10 kg.
