Turmeric prices ended in red both on spot and futures market on Tuesday as investors booked profits. Spot prices declined on slack upcountry demand for the spice. On Tuesday, 3,200 bags arrived for sale and 75 per cent of them were sold. The price of the both the varieties edged up marginally. At the Erode Turmeric Merchants Association, finger turmeric was sold at ₹5,569-8,588 a quintal and root variety at ₹5,255-8,088. Of the arrival of 1,990 bags, 1,157 were traded.
