Amid report of decline in sowing area and crop output, chana continued to trade higher for the second consecutive week. Chana (kanta) on Tuesday was being quoted at ₹3,000-25 a quintal, while chana (desi) ruled at ₹2,750.

Uptrend in chana also lifted its dal with chana dal (average) at ₹3,400-50, chana dal (medium) ₹3,600-50, while chana dal (bold) ruled at ₹3,700-4,000. Dollar chana traded low on slack domestic and export demand. In Indore mandis, dollar chana today ruled at ₹4,000-4,700 (₹5,000-5,400 last week) amid arrival of 7,000-8,000 bags in mandis across Madhya Pradesh.

In container, dollar chana 42/44 count was at ₹5,275, 44/46 count ₹5,075, 58/60 count ₹4,250 while 60/62 count was quoted at ₹3,825 a quintal respectively.
