Wheat and rice basmati prices strengthened on the wholesale grains market on Saturday on increased buying by flour mills and stockists.

In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) rose by Rs 15 to Rs 1,585-1,590 per quintal. Atta chakki delivery traded higher by the same margin to Rs 1,590-1,595 per 90 kg.

Rice basmati common and Pusa-1121 variety met with brisk buying activity and ended higher at Rs 7,400-7,500 and Rs 7,400-7,700 against last close of Rs 7,300-7,400 each per quintal, respectively.

The following were today’s quotations per quintal: Wheat MP (deshi) 2,050-2,250, Wheat dara (for mills) 1,585-1,590, Chakki atta (delivery) 1,590-1,595 Atta Rajdhani (10 kg) 220, Shakti bhog (10 kg) 220, Roller flour mill 860-880 (50 kg), Maida 920-940 (50 kg) and Sooji 960-1,000 (50kg).
