Stocks of copper refiners fell today as a wave of stop-loss selling pushed London copper to 5-1/2 year lows on Wednesday.
Sesa Sterlite tumbled 4.6 per cent, while Hindalco Industries slumped 3.5 per cent. Both shares hit near 1-month low.
Three-month copper on the London Metal Exchange tumbled as much as 8.7 per cent.
Shanghai copper plunged 5 percent, the maximum fall allowed in a day, due to global economic concerns and a wave of stop-loss orders.
