Geojit BNP Paribas has started operations from its new corporate office in Kochi. The Rs 40-crore building is the only green building in the corporation limits, says company officials.
The 14 floor building consumes 25 per cent less energy than the conventional buildings and 40 per cent less water, C.J. George, managing director, told reporters here. It strictly adheres to green buildings norms and is aiming to achieve the gold ratings certification.
With a total carpet area of 61,840 square feet, the building can accommodate 850 employees. Around 520 are currently working now, he said.
There are three training rooms with capacity of 130 persons, 18 meeting rooms, and parking facility for 57 cars and 200 two-wheelers.
The building also has a sewage treatment plant and rainwater harvesting facility. The building is constructed on 60 cents of land.
