In range-bound movement, gold prices fell marginally by 0.08 per cent to Rs 28,669 per 10 gram at the futures trade today as participants trimmed positions in line with a weak trend in overseas market.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in October eased by Rs 19 or 0.08 per cent to Rs 28,669 per 10 gram in a business turnover of 246 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in far-month December shed Rs 12 or 0.04 per cent to Rs 28,719 per 10 gram in four lots.
Market analysts said a weak trend in the overseas market mainly put pressure on gold prices at the futures trade here.
Globally, the yellow metal fell 68 cents to $1,312.24 an ounce in Singapore.
