Gold futures on the Multi Commodity Exchange opened marginally higher at Rs 30,337 per 10 grams against the previous close of Rs 30,331.
February contract made a high of Rs 30,378 and low of Rs 30,321. It was trading up 0.17 per cent at Rs 30,383 at 11.57 p.m.
In Comex, the yellow metal for February delivery gained by $3 to $1,660 a troy ounce.
The rupee has been depreciating against dollar in the futures market. This has limited the gains in gold prices in India.
