Tracking a weak global trend and profit-booking, silver prices moved down by 0.24 per cent to Rs 38,779 per kg in futures trade today.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in December moved down by Rs 93, or 0.24 per cent to Rs 38,779 per kg in business turnover of 597 lots.
Similarly, the white metal for delivery in March 2015 declined by Rs 62, or 0.16 per cent to Rs 39,494 per kg in seven lots.
Market analysts said speculators trimming positions in tandem with a weak global trend, mainly weighed on the silver prices at futures trade.
Meanwhile, in Singapore, silver eased to $17.38 from $17.39 an ounce yesterday.
