The National Stock Exchange has included six more stocks - Amtek Auto, Bosch, Engineers India, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Strides Arcolab and Wockhardt - into the derivative segment. These stocks will enter the future & options (F&O) segment from November 28.
The market lot, scheme of strikes and quantity freeze limit of the above mentioned securities shall be informed to members on November 27 through a separate circular, the bourse in a statement.
Meanwhile, the shares have ended on mixed note. Bosch jumped 4.4 per cent at ₹18,912.85, Amtek Auto gained 1.4 per cent at ₹208.20 and Strides Arcolab moved up 1.4 per cent at ₹739.25, while Engineers India ended on flat note at ₹226.95. Wockhardt edged up 0.5 per cent at ₹827.45 while Indiabulls Housing slipped 1.5 per cent at ₹444.25.
Inclusion in the F&O segment makes stocks more liquid, as arbitrage funds, which take contra positions in the derivative and the cash segments of a share to benefit from mispricing, are likely to participate in these stocks when the opportunity arises.
Stocks that trade in the F&O segment do not have any circuit filters, which means they can swing wildly on the bourses.
