Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, along with Rekha Jhunjhunwala, Hillcroft Investments and Rare Share & Stocks, has acquired an additional 2 per cent stake in Hyderabad-based construction and infrastructure company NCC Ltd.

According to a filing made to the stock exchanges, Rakesh Jhunjhunwala and persons acting in concert, have acquired 6.5 lakh additional shares through the open market and 4 crore shares by way of rights issue, which the company had recently concluded while raising up to ₹600 crore.

According to the filing, the shareholding of Rakesh Jhunjhunwala was 11.84 per cent before the announcement made on Tuesday. It has now gone up to 12.78 per cent. Over the period, Rakesh Jhunjhunwala has acquired shares in the construction company, increasing his holding past the 10 per cent mark.

As of September 2014, the promoters held 20.41 per cent stake in the company, foreign direct investors 29.18 per cent, domestic institutional investors 11.44 per cent and others 38.97 per cent. Meanwhile, in another disclosure made to the stock exchanges, Citigroup Global Markets Mauritius has intimated that it now has a 5.41 per cent stake in NCC.

On Tuesday, the NCC stock closed 0.62 per cent down at ₹56.45 on BSE, while the benchmark index, Sensex, gained 0.13 per cent to end the trade at 27,910.06 points.
