Sun Pharma Industries traded firm to hold gains of 6.43 per cent near the close on the BSE on Wednesday. At 3.40 pm it was trading at Rs 1,003 as against Rs 942.40 at close yesterday.
Bajaj Auto, which has launched the Platina Electric Start motorcycle, rose 1.13 per cent to quote at Rs 2,140. The share had closed the overnight session at Rs 2,116.15.
ITC spurted 1.07 per cent at Rs 345 as against Rs 341.35 at close on Tuesday.
Bharti Airtel shed some of its early gains to trade at Rs 350.95. This was a gain of 0.57 per cent on its overnight close at Rs 348.95.
HDFC also edged lower by the close. It was trading at Rs 1,366.70, up 0.19 per cent on its previous close at Rs 1,364.15.
