ICICI Bank surged 3 per cent to emerge the top gainer on the BSE near the close of trading on Friday. At 3.20 pm it was trading at Rs 355.60 as against Rs 345.20 at close on Thursday.
Hindalco Industries gained 2.90 per cent to quote at Rs 158.05. The stock had closed yesterday’s session at Rs 153.60.
Sesa Sterlite came off its morning highs to quote at Rs 208.45. This was a gain of 2.31 per cent on its previous close at Rs 203.75.
Wipro rode up 2.25 per cent to trade at Rs 550 as against Rs 537.90 at close on Thursday.
Reliance Industries was quoting at Rs 899. This was a gain of 2.13 per cent on its previous close at Rs 880.25.
Meanwhile, both the Sensex and the Nifty extended their firm trend on positive global cues. While the Sensex was trading up over 270 points, the Nifty held gains of over 80 points in late trading.
