In contrast to the morning session which was dominated by financial sector shares, HDFC was the only financial sector stock among the top gainers by late trading on Friday. At 3.15 pm the share was trading at Rs 1,292.70 as against Rs 1,255.95 at close yesterday. This was a gain of 2.93 per cent.
TCS surged 2.59 per cent to trade at Rs 2,623.90 as against Rs 2,557.65 at close on Thursday.
Sun Pharma rose 2.14 per cent to trade at Rs 1,001.75 as against Rs 980.80 at close overnight.
ONGC advanced further to notch up gains of 1.56 per cent at Rs 322.55 as against Rs 317.60 at close overnight.
Another energy sector scrip GAIL sailed up 1.29 per cent to quote at Rs 397.25 as against Rs 392.20 at close last evening.
