CMI, a specialty cable company, has received approval from the Indian Railways to supply hard-drawn contact wire and catenery wire used in electric traction of trains at 25 KV.
As the Indian Railways has only 28,000 km of electrified track out of 67,000 km, CMI has huge potential to tap the balance in the near future.
Besides, CMI aims to get a share of the 7,000 km of dedicated freight corridor project in the next five years. Analysts will keep a close tab on the stock.
