IT stocks emerged the predominant gainers on the NSE in late trading on Friday. At 3.40 pm HCL Technologies swung up 3.19 per cent to lead the pack. The stock was trading at ₹1,400.65 as against its previous close of ₹1,357.40.
Ambuja Cement extended its morning gains to quote at ₹217.20. This was up 2.28 per cent on its previous close of ₹212.35.
Sun Pharma edged up further to quote at ₹628.15. The stock closed yesterday's session at ₹615.40. The pharma company had earlier this week announced that it was acquiring Ranbaxy in a $4-billion deal.
Tech Mahindra rode up 1.84 per cent to trade at ₹1,739.55. The stock had closed yesterday's session at ₹1,708.20.
TCS was trading at ₹2,164.10 as against ₹2,126.15 at close yesterday. This was a gain of 1.78 per cent.
