Banking stocks maintained their firm undertone to stay the top gainers on the BSE on Wednesday. At 2.40 pm ICICI Bank lead the pack with gains of 4.64 per cent. It was quoting at ₹1,458.25 as against its previous close of ₹1,393.55.
Axis Bank made rapid gains during the latter half of the day to trade at ₹1,960.60. This represented a gain of 3.33 per cent on its previous close at ₹1,897.50.
Hindalco Industries was trading at ₹179.85. This was a gain of 3.15 per cent on its previous close at ₹174.35.
State Bank of India was up 2.29 per cent at ₹2,573.90. The stock had ended the previous session at ₹2,516.20.
Maruti Suzuki zipped up 1.81 per cent to quote at ₹2,566.40 as against Tuesday’s close at ₹2,520.85.
