GAIL made rapid gains in the latter half of the day to emerge the top gainer on the NSE by close on Monday. It finished the session at ₹369.75 as against last week's close at ₹352.40, a gain of 4.92 per cent.
ONGC advanced to hold gains of 4.29 per cent at ₹321.10 as against Friday's close of ₹307.90.
Banking stocks maintained their firm undertone through the day. IndusInd Bank ended with gains of 3.99 per cent at ₹490.30 as against ₹471.50 at close last week.
ICICI Bank held steady to close at ₹1,242.20, up 3.68 per cent on its previous close of ₹1,198.10.
NMDC made further ground to trade at ₹134.50 as against ₹129.90 at close last week. This represented a gain of 3.54 per cent.
