Coal India made rapid strides during the latter half of the session to emerge the top gainer on both the NSE and BSE by the close on Wednesday.
At 3.40 pm Coal India was trading at ₹376.10, up 3.49 per cent on its overnight close at ₹363.40.
IT stock TCS, Infosys and Wipro maintained their firm trend in late trading. Infosys moved up to hold gains of 3.33 per cent at ₹3,734.25. The stock had closed the previous session at ₹3.613.75.
Bharti Airtel trimmed some of its morning gains to quote at ₹404.50 as against ₹391.60 at close on Tuesday. This was a gain of 3.29 per cent.
Wipro spurted 2.89 per cent at ₹577.20 as against ₹561 at close yesterday.
TCS held steady to keep gains of 2.70 per cent at ₹2,606.40 as against ₹2,537.90 at close yesterday.
