Boosted by Ranbaxy receiving approval to sell a generic version of Novartis's hypertension drug Diovan in the US market, Sun Pharma traded firm and remained the top gainer on the NSE ahead of the close on Friday.
At 3 pm it held gains of 4.17 per cent at ₹661.65, up 4.17 per cent on its overnight close of ₹635.15.
TCS made further gains during the afternoon session to trade at ₹2,399.75. It was up 3.99 per cent on Thursday’s close at ₹2,307.65.
HCL Technologies was trading at ₹1,482.95, a gain of 3.41 per cent on its overnight close of ₹1,434.10.
Tech Mahindra rode up further to hold gains of 3.21 per cent at ₹2,113 as against ₹2,047.20 at close yesterday.
Power Grid Corporation was quoting at ₹135.80. This was a gain of 2.45 per cent on its previous close of ₹132.55.
