Metal sector stocks were on a roll on the markets during the latter half of the day on Tuesday. At 3.30 pm, Jindal Steel emerged the top gainer on the BSE, quoting at ₹314.90. This represented a gain of 5.96 per cent on its previous close of ₹297.20.
Tech Mahindra raced up 2.72 per cent to quote at ₹1,854.45. The stock had closed the previous session at ₹1,805.40.
Tata Steel spiked up 2.13 per cent to quote at ₹477.60. It had closed the previous session at ₹467.65.
Hindalco Industries gained 1.73 per cent to quote at ₹149.65 as against ₹147.10 at close yesterday.
UltraTech Cement held firm to hold gains of 1.30 per cent at ₹2,265.45 as against its previous close of ₹2,236.40.
