Shares of liquor makers such as United Spirits, Radico Khaitan and Pincon Spirit will remain in focus on the proposals put forth in the Karnataka Budget presented on Wednesday. The State Budget presented by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah proposes removal of value-added tax on liquor from April 1. This includes beer, fenny, liqueur and wine. However, multiplexes such as PVR and Inox Leisure may remain under pressure, with ticket prices having been capped at ₹200 at all theatres.
