Lupin, which will replace Tata Power in the BSE Sensex from June 22, gained 2.09 per cent to Rs 1,771.90 on the BSE in early trade on Monday. The latter, which tumbled to a low of Rs 74.80 initially, is currently hovering at Rs 75.10.

In a press release on Friday, the BSE said Adani Power will be excluded from the S&P BSE 100 and the S&P BSE Carbonex. For the first time, Tata Motors DVR (or Differential Voting Rights shares of Tata Motors) will enter the index pack.

Along with Aurobindo Pharma, the DVR shares of Tata Motors will enter the S&P BSE 100 index. In the Carbonex, Aurobindo Pharma will replace Adani Power.

However, the shares of Adani Power climbed 0.99 per cent to Rs 40.80, while Tata Motors DVR tumbled 1.4 per cent to Rs 310.90 and Aurobindo Pharma slipped 0.08 per cent to Rs 1,361.

Other changes include, in the BSE 200 index, Ajanta Pharma, Suzlon Energy, Dewan Housing, NCC and Tata Motors DVR will be the new entrants while Sanofi India, Hindustan Copper, Amtek Auto and Jaiprakash Power Ventures will be excluded.

As many as 26 companies, including BGR Energy, Gujarat Narmada Valley, Graphite India, Nitin Fire, Uflex, TBZ, Ballarpur Ind, STC, Dhanlaxmi Bank, and Orchid Chemicals, will be excluded from the BSE 500 index. Twenty seven companies will enter the BSE 500 index along with Tata Motors' DVR from June 22.

The BSE is also excluding two lenders — Canara Bank and Bank of India — from the S&P BSE Bankex. They will not be replaced by any others.
