Private lenders held sway on the NSE in the afternoon session on Saturday, after the Union Budget was presented by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley earlier in the day.
Axis Bank, the top gainer on the BSE, led the pack on the NSE as well, trading at Rs 607.70. This was a gain of 7.15 per cent on its overnight close at Rs 567.15.
IndusInd Bank moved up 5.61 per cent at Rs 913 as against Rs 864.50 at close overnight.
Yes Bank gained 5.35 per cent to quote at Rs 864.75. The share had finished the previous session at Rs 820.80.
Kotak Mahindra Bank rode up 4.31 per cent to trade at Rs 1,395.40 as against Rs 1,337.75 at close on Friday.
ICICI Bank also rose 2.61 per cent to quote at Rs 344. The share had ended the previous session at Rs 335.25.
