BPCL came off its morning highs to hold gains of 1.82 per cent at the close on the NSE on Thursday. However, it was the top gainer on the bourse, on a day on which the markets suffered a massive sell-off. The share finished the session at Rs 762.30 as against Rs 748.7 at close on Wednesday.
Bharti Airtel kept gains of 1.18 per cent to trade at Rs 399.65 as against Rs 395 at close yesterday.
UltraTech Cement also dropped lower to trade at Rs 2,795.80. This represented a gain of 1.08 per cent on its previous close at Rs 2,766.
NMDC gained 0.80 per cent to quote at Rs 125.30 as against Rs 124.30 at close on Wednesday.
Ambuja Cement was the other cement stock among the gainers. It was trading at Rs 250.10, up 0.52 per cent on its overnight close at Rs 248.80.
