Banking stocks held on to their firm undertone near the close on the NSE on Thursday. At 2.55 pm Punjab National Bank was the top gainer on the bourse, trading at ₹961.90. This represented a gain of 3.45 per cent on its previous close at ₹929.85.
Bajaj Auto rode up 3.16 per cent to trade at ₹2,268.20. The stock had ended the previous session at ₹2,198.80.
Bank of Baroda, trading at ₹903.95, held gains of 2.69 per cent on its overnight close at ₹880.30.
State Bank of India made further ground to hold gains of 2.27 per cent at ₹2,469.50. The stock had closed Wednesday’s session at ₹2,414.75.
Private lender Kotak Mahindra Bank held firm to quote at ₹1,020.75. This represented a gain of 2.08 per cent on its previous close at ₹1,000.
