Omkar Speciality Chemicals on Monday informed the exchanges that it had received an alkali metal iodide process patent from the government. This is the sixth patent granted to the company, and six more patent applications filed for other products are pending grant, the company said in a notice to the stock exchanges. With this approval, it awarded the legal monopoly to the company for manufacturing alkali metal iodide compounds and especially valuable products like sodium iodide and potassium iodide. Shares of Omkar Speciality Chemicals, which had registered its year-low at ₹69.75, closed at ₹73.45, up 2.22 per cent on the NSE.
