ONGC maintained its firm sentiment to remain the top gainer on the BSE ahead of the close on Monday. At 2.40 p.m. it was trading at Rs 282.10 as against Rs 275.80 at close on Friday, representing a gain of 2.28 per cent.
Sun Pharma Industries extended its morning gains to trade at Rs 590, which was 1.73 per cent higher than its earlier close of Rs 579.95.
Tata Motors was also up a shade at Rs 367.30 or a gain or 1.27 per cent on its previous close of Rs 362.70.
TCS made rapid strides to emerge among the top gainers in late trade. At 2.40 p.m. it was trading at Rs 2,238.60 as against Rs 2,222 at close on Friday. This represented a gain of 0.75 per cent.
Wipro was trading at Rs 559.40 as against Rs 557.15 at close on Friday, a gain of 0.40 per cent.
