Pharma and IT stocks made the list of top gainers on the BSE ahead of the close on Friday. At 3.30 pm the top gainer was Sun Pharma, which earlier this week announced that it was acquiring Ranbaxy in a $4-billion deal. The pharma stock was trading at ₹627.35, up 1.81 per cent on its previous close of ₹616.20.
TCS zipped up 1.62 per cent to trade at ₹2,161.10 as against ₹2,126.55 at close yesterday.
Wipro rode up 1.60 per cent to quote at ₹569.40. The stock had closed Thursday’s session at ₹560.45.
Cipla quoted at ₹402.00, a gain of 1.14 per cent on its overnight close of ₹397.45.
Infosys was trading at ₹3243, up 1.14 per cent on its previous close of ₹3,206.60.
