Power and oil sector stocks stormed up by the close on Thursday. At 3.50 pm Tata Power was the top gainer on the NSE, trading at ₹87.30 as against ₹83.95 at close on Wednesday. This represented a gain of 3.99 per cent.
BHEL extended its morning gains to trade up 2.73 per cent at ₹186.55 as against ₹181.60 at close yesterday.
BPCL rode up 2.68 per cent to trade at ₹451.85. The stock had closed the previous session at ₹440.05.
NTPC charged up 2.61 per cent to trade at ₹123.70 as against ₹120.55 at close yesterday.
Cairn India was trading at ₹359.65 as against ₹351 at close yesterday. This represented a gain of 2.46 per cent.
