Ranbaxy surged over 6 per cent to emerge the top gainer on the NSE by the close on Wednesday. The company today announced that it had registered a sharp drop in losses during the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2013.
At 2.55 p.m. Ranbaxy Labs was trading at Rs 341.60, up 6.10 per cent on Tuesday's close of Rs 321.95.
DLF also traded on a firm note to hold gains of 3.80 per cent at Rs 139.20. The stock closed yesterday's session at Rs 134.10.
Tata Steel edged up further to quote at Rs 355.60. This represented a gain of 3.69 per cent on its overnight close of Rs 342.95.
Tata Motors was trading at Rs 355.70, up 2.85 per cent on its previous close of Rs 345.85.
Mahindra & Mahindra held firm to edge up 2.82 per cent by the close. It was trading at Rs 877.85 as against its overnight close of Rs 853.75.
