Metal sector stocks held firm to lead the pack of top gainers on the BSE in late trading on Friday.

At 2.55 p.m. Tata Steel was the top gainer on the BSE, quoting at Rs 382.55 as against Rs 361.35 at close on Thursday. This represented a gain of 5.87 per cent.

Sesa Sterlite was quoting at Rs 188.90 as against Rs 183.25 at close overnight. This was a gain of 3.08 per cent.

Sun Pharma Industries edged up to quote at Rs 601.90, up 2.91 per cent on its earlier close of Rs 584.90.

Bajaj Auto rode up 2.21 per cent in late trading to quote at Rs 1,938.75. The stock had closed the previous session at Rs 1,896.75.

Axis Bank traded up 1.73 per cent to quote at Rs 1,121.95, as against Rs 1,102.85 at close overnight.
