The United Spirits stock held firm after spiralling up in morning trade on the NSE on Tuesday. At close the stock was up 11.60 per cent at ₹2,853.95 as against ₹2,557.25 at close on Friday.
Diageo plc today said it would make a second open offer to acquire an additional 26 per cent stake in United Spirits for about Rs 11,450 crore. The company has said it will acquire up to 3.77 crore equity shares of United Spirits at Rs 3,030 a share.
IT stocks were also on the ascendant. TCS was quoting at ₹2,252.75 representing a gain of 4.10 per cent on its previous close of ₹2,164.10.
Wipro advanced 3.60 per cent to ₹588.55 as against ₹568.10 at close on Friday.
Hero MotoCorp rode up 2.13 per cent at ₹2,220.35 as against ₹2,174.05 at close last week.
HCL Technologies advanced 1.72 per cent to trade at ₹1,424.80. The stock closed the previous session at ₹1,400.65.
