The Asian Development Bank has approved a $175-million loan to Power Grid Corp of India to increase the supply of clean energy. The ADB will also administer a $50-million co-financing loan equivalent from the Clean Technology Fund. The PowerGrid project is intended to improve capacity and efficiency of inter-state transmission networks, particularly transmitting electricity generated from new solar parks to the national grid.
