`Problems help build a strong foundation'

MR SUNIL SINHA

Mr Sunil Sinha is the Chief Executive of Sharp Business Systems (India) Ltd, makers of IT driven office-automation products. An electrical and electronic engineer, the hallmark of Mr Sinha's career has been to conceive and execute growth plans. Here's his take on four questions from Business Line:

Two things that my education/training taught me.

One, a mentor is a must to be happy and successful in life. And, two, problems are trophies of youth and help in building a strong foundation.

Two things I learnt from my work/real life.

One, personal initiative is what drives a successful career. And, two, developing a capable subordinate contributes to one's own growth as well.

One quality I look for the most in a new recruit.

Optimism.

A book that I read recently.

Count of Monte Cristo.
