Job versus higher study

S. Kannan

I am working with a leading publication house. I had done B.Com and having an experience of almost three years. I am planning to do a part-time post-graduate diploma in marketing from Symboisis. But for that I would have to quit my current job and relocate to Pune. My current job is good and I have been with the company for 11 months. The other option is to go aboard for studies. Should I continue with the present job or move to Pune for the course and take up a job?

Jigar Dave

If you have a flair for sales and marketing and you enjoy meeting people, you may consider the option of doing the PG diploma. To leave a job and take up a part-time course in a different city would depend upon your financial background.

If you can afford to do so, it may be the right thing considering that you already have three years of experience. But you would need to work hard in academics, develop soft skills and prove yourself to get noticed by prospective employers for a better placement.
